Exclusive rights

Your own character comes with a license that gives you the exclusive rights to use it in specified countries for the specified period of time. The registered copyright guarantees this exclusivity, which means you will never see illegal versions of your character in public - because nobody else is legally entitled to use the character in the specified countries you can take action against anybody infringing your rights. Should it transpire that an identical character has already been designed anywhere in the world, an amended or new design will be prepared for you free of charge. License agreements can be world-wide, per geographic region or, if you so desire, per product group and can be for a period of time specified by you.

The license to use the character gives you the right to publicize, use in combination with your organization or sell, the drawings of your character produced by License House (including the drawings of variations of the character) as well as articles incorporating your character (such as posters, logos, animated films, soft toys, useful and decorative articles and numerous other applications and ideas) produced via License House.

You may at any time decide to purchase the rights to the character outright. Until you purchase the rights you are obliged to use License House BV's services for all drawings, manufacturing and other applications involving the character. It is very important that all the artists' drawings of the character, and all the manufactured articles based on these drawings, are not only of the highest quality but also show the character exactly as it should be without any alterations to its appearance being allowed to "creep in" if, for example, the character is re-drawn several times. To understand what we mean, look at the first "Suske en Wiske" or "Lucky Luke" books, or the first Ollie B. Bommels. Just like Disney we protect our creations to ensure they always look as fresh and attractive as when they were first created. This is in your interest as well as that of License House.
